Kane Sets Tottenham Scoring Record In Everton Rout

Harry Kane became Tottenham Hotspur’s highest Premier League goal scorer after netting a brace in the club’s 4-0 win against Everton at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

The forward went into game on 96 goals, one behind Teddy Sheringham, but has now moved ahead of the legendary striker on the list with 98 goals.

Kane is also only the third player to score at least 20 goals in four consecutive Premier League campaigns after Thierry Henry (five) and Alan Shearer (four).

Son Heung-min who was also on target in the game also became the second Tottenham Hotspur player to score in five consecutive Premier League home games.

The first chance of the game fell to Tottenham Hotspur on 15 minutes as Son failed to divert home Christian Eriksen’s free kick despite Jordan Pickford being nowhere near the ball.

Everton responded with a chance of their own as Wayne Rooney dragged his left-footed effort wide from Cenk Tosun’s long ball.

The visitors thought they had broken the deadlock in the 22nd minute when Rooney diverted Tosun’s header past Hugo Lloris from close range but celebrations were cut short by the offside flag.

Tottenham took the lead four minutes later with Son tapping Serge Aurier’s cross into the net.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men doubled their lead two minutes after the break with Son the provider.

The South Korean international charged down the left flank and in a manner similar to the first goal, he dragged his shot into the box with Kane tapping the ball into the net.

Kane got his second of the game on the hour mark, slotting home Eric Dier’s cross beyond Pickford.

Eriksen added the fourth with a sublime finish nine minutes from time.
